在網路上的每一台電腦都有一組稱為IP(Internet Protocol)的位址，例如211.72.211.7，但因不易記憶，所以網域名稱(Domain Name)以簡單的字串如twnic.net.tw來代表這一組IP位址。截至106年3月底止，「.tw/.台灣」網域名稱註冊總量已達730,223。

Every computer on the Internet has a unique Internet Protocol (IP) address, for example, the IP Address 211.72.211.7 is not easy to remember. The Domain Name System makes using the Internet easier by allowing a familiar string of letters like twnic.net.tw to be used instead of the IP address.

As of March 2017 a total of 730,223“.tw/.台灣”domain names were registered (See Figure1).

網際網路通訊協定位址(Internet Protocol Address)是用來辨識網際網路上主機位置所在，以固定且唯一的一串數字位址分配予主機。台灣IP位址核發數量，在IPv4位址發放數量統計上，台灣居全球第15名; IPv6位址發放數量為全球第18名。

Internet Protocol Address is a numerical label assigned to each device participating in a computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication.

The allocations of IPv4 and IPv6 addresses are shown in Figure 4 and Figure 5. In the global ranking of IPv4 and IPv6 allocations, Taiwan ranks the 15th and 18th respectively.

自治系統號碼(ASN)是一個提供自治系統(AS)間交換動態路由資訊的唯一識別碼，截至106年3月國內自治系統號碼核發數為347個。

Autonomous System Numbers (ASN) are unique identifiers for a collection of networks, or routers that share a common set of routing policies.

As of March 2017 the total number of AS Numbers was 347 (See Figure 6).

.tw WWW Server數量截至106年4月底共計有164,173台WWW Server。

By the end of April 2017 the number of .tw WWW Servers is 164,173 (See Figure 7).

「台灣網際網路連線頻寬調查」結果顯示，於106年4月公布之我國對外連線總頻寬達 2,094,615Mbps。

The Taiwan Internet Connection Bandwidth Survey shows that the total International Internet connection bandwidth reached 2,094,615Mbps by the end of March 2017.

國內各連線單位互連頻寬方面，於107年4月公布的相關數據呈現成長狀態，國內網路持續活躍。

Domestic Internet Connection Bandwidth among local ISPs shows steady growth, according to the survey's result in March 2017 (See Table 1).

TWNIC 105年6月台灣寬頻網路使用調查結果顯示：上網有1,993萬人，上網比例為84.8%；12歲以上曾經上網有1,881萬人，使用寬頻上網有1,873萬人，使用無線上網有1,641萬人，使用行動上網有1,448萬人。

The latest Broadband Internet Usage Survey shows that there are 19.93 million Internet users in Taiwan, representing 84.88% of the total population. The number of Internet users aged 12 years old and above is 18.81 million. Among them, there are 18.73 million broadband Internet users, 16.41 million wireless Internet users and 14.48 million mobile Internet users (See Figure 9 and Figure 10).

在家戶數統計已上網家戶數達745萬戶;而寬頻上網之戶數共計740萬戶

In terms of households with Internet access, the total number is 7.45 million. Among them, 7.40million households have broadband Internet access (See Figure 11).

2016年台灣寬頻網路使用調查報告顯示，45歲以上民眾使用網路社群與使用即時通訊軟體的比例皆有增加。2015年，45歲以上網民有45.1%使用網路社群，50.7%使用即時通訊軟體。2016年，45歲以上的網民有64.4%使用網路社群，81.1%使用即時通訊軟體。另外，2015年，60歲以上的網民有40.8%使用網路社群，50.2%使用網路即時通訊軟體。2016年，60歲以上網民有55.4%使用網路社群，76.7%使用網路即時通訊軟體。

The survey shows that both the social networks usage rate and instant message usage rate at 45 years old and beyond have increased from 2015 to 2016. In 2015, 45.1% of the internet users at 45 years old and beyond used social networks, and 50.7% of the internet users aforem-en tioned used instant messages. In 2016, 60.4% of the internet users at 45 years old and beyond used social networks, and 81.1% of the internet users aforementioned use instant messages.

國家通訊傳播委員會(NCC)以業者回報統計資料顯示(106年2月)行動通信用戶數達2,887萬戶

Statistics from the National Communications Commission (NCC) show that by the end of February 2017 the number of mobile subscribers is 28.87 million (See Figure 14).
